Welcome to ‘'Diving About’. The home of Scuba related banter, critter and conservation information and the occasional product review.
To get things started, I thought I should let you know a little bit about myself and what this blog aims to achieve.
I am just a diver. I’m not an instructor or even a dive master. I haven’t spent years diving secret missions for the CIA, KGB, Australian Navy, Police or any other ‘organisation’. I am a recreational Scuba Diver. I love the marine environment and all its inhabitants and I love to get wet. I am passionate about marine conservation and preserving the marine environment. I live in Brisbane, Queensland (that’s in Australia for those who don’t know) I work in a boring job and I lead a rather normal life.
My husband is a much better photographer than I, so whenever you see a photo on this blog, you can be fairly confident in assuming that he was the one who snapped it. Most of my photos get deleted when we hit the surface!
This blog is aimed at anyone with a sense of humour and an interest in diving and/or marine conservation or anyone out there who just likes reading. I am not going to give lectures on the dos and don’ts of diving. I am not going to pretend that I know everything about anything!!! I am not an ‘expert’ and I am not going to solve your diving dilemmas. Any statistics I include in any of my posts are probably entirely made up and have no factual basis, unless I reference it as such. I am simply aiming to share some of my personal experiences and many opinions to anyone who is interested.
